Brionny had previously graduated in 2005 from the University of Otago, New Zealand, with a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honors) in Psychology followed by an additional Masters degree which explored human error using post-incident classification systems. Throughout her tertiary education Brionny demonstrated a pervasive interest in human performance and the effects of fatigue, and she has aspirations to complete a research PhD in the area of fatigue risk management and operational safety performance.
